Are you an empathetic, empowered woman who wants to see a world free from sexual violence?
OSARCC is a feminist organisation comprised of women of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a diverse range of services for women and girl survivors of sexual violence, as well as deliver outreach work to prevent further violence.
There are lots of ways you can get involved:
OSARCC provides the only specialist holistic service in Oxfordshire for women and girls who have experienced any form of sexual violence. We also offer training to professionals who may work with survivors of any gender, in order to share our expertise and ensure that survivors are met with the best response possible by as many agencies as possible.
Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre (OSARCC) is delighted to have secured funding through the Big Lottery Women and Girls Initiative.
This five-year funding will enable us to extend our specialist sexual violence services to reach younger women and girls across Oxfordshire. This will include support for those who have experienced sexual violence as well as preventative work to stop this violence from occurring.
We're delighted to have worked with Thames Valley Police, Rape Crisis (Wycombe, Chiltern & South Bucks), and Oxford University Students Union to create the #ConsentIsEverything campaign.
The Serious Case Review surrounding Operation Bullfinch highlights clear failures to protect girls within our local area. It is now clear that a lack of understanding of the laws regarding consent and a limited understanding of guidance related to the exploitation of children led to crimes against them not being understood or recorded as such.
If you've seen any local Oxford news in the last couple of days, you'll no doubt have heard the story of Jeanne Marie – a woman who was beaten up in an Oxford nightclub at the weekend for telling a man that it is 'completely inappropriate to touch a woman without her consent.'
OSARCC volunteers ensure that we offer our service users a continued high standard of support in all of our frontline services. They truly are the beating heart of our organisation, and it is thanks to our volunteers both past and present that we have been able to offer support to survivors in Oxfordshire for the past 30 years.
Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre welcomes today's news that seven sex offenders have been successfully prosecuted as a result of Operation Bullfinch.
OSARCC were delighted to have been shortlisted for the Management of Volunteers award, at this year's OCVA Awards and even more delighted when we discovered we'd won!
OSARCC is 40 this year! To celebrate, we're asking people to #riseup and support our #40for40 campaign.
Throughout 2019 we're looking to raise an additional £40,000 to help us expand and sustain our services. More details ...
