Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre (OSARCC) is delighted to have secured funding through the Big Lottery Women and Girls Initiative.

This five-year funding will enable us to extend our specialist sexual violence services to reach younger women and girls across Oxfordshire. This will include support for those who have experienced sexual violence as well as preventative work to stop this violence from occurring.

The Serious Case Review surrounding Operation Bullfinch highlights clear failures to protect girls within our local area. It is now clear that a lack of understanding of the laws regarding consent and a limited understanding of guidance related to the exploitation of children led to crimes against them not being understood or recorded as such.

1st - 7th June marks Volunteer's week, and is a chance for us to say THANK YOU to all of our volunteers.

OSARCC volunteers ensure that we offer our service users a continued high standard of support in all of our frontline services.  They truly are the beating heart of our organisation, and it is thanks to our volunteers both past and present that we have been able to offer support to survivors in Oxfordshire for the past 30 years.

‘Life changing’ group for women who have experienced rape or sexual abuse

A specialist support service for women in Oxfordshire who have experienced sexual violence is to restart in November thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery.

Run by Oxford based charity Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre (OSARCC), the group will be open to any woman over the age of 18 who has experienced sexual violence at any time in her life, whether as an adult or a child.

OSARCC are delighted to be shortlisted for the Management of Volunteers Award at Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action Charity Awards 2012. The award recognises excellent practice in both how volunteers are involved in the delivery of services and the type of support that volunteers receive.

OSARCC are delighted to have received donations from our two local university students' unions as part of their RAG charity fundraising this academic year.

Both Oxford University Students' Union RAG and Oxford Brookes Students' Union RAG have raised money for the charity this year - the cheques coming at a critical time when securing funds to maintain services is becoming ever more challenging.
