OSARCC provides the only specialist holistic service in Oxfordshire for survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence or abuse. We also offer training to professionals who may work with survivors of any gender, in order to share our expertise and ensure that all survivors are met with current best practices by as many agencies as possible:

We regularly host multi-agency and in-house training courses around Oxfordshire (see below), but are also able to offer bespoke sessions in-house, tailored to your specific organisational context and needs.

Sexual violence awareness (Multi-agency)

OSARCC provides the only specialist holistic service in Oxfordshire for women and girls who have experienced any form of sexual violence.  We also offer training to professionals who may work with survivors of any gender, in order to share our expertise and ensure that survivors are met with the best response possible by as many agencies as possible.

This two-day course aims to progressively develop your knowledge, skills and confidence relating to sexual violence and the support needs of survivors.  You will learn theory, consider case studies, and put your skills into practice with roleplay scenarios – all in a supportive, collaborative learning environment facilitated by an experienced trainer.


Day I: Introduction to Sexual Violence

This knowledge-focused day covers:

  • The nature and prevalence of sexual violence
  • Common perpetrator tactics
  • Myths surrounding sexual violence
  • The impacts of sexual violence
  • Reporting and the legal process
  • Key referral pathways​

Day II: Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence

This skills-focused day covers:

  • Barriers to disclosure and overcoming them
  • Creating a safe environment for disclosures
  • Responding appropriately and managing trauma responses
  • Options following disclosure, including for recent incidents
  • Working within an empowerment model
  • Individual and organisational responsibilities

These prices include course delivery, materials and refreshments for one delegate.  Please note that lunch is not provided.  Failure to cancel a booking within three days of the course running will result in the full cost of the course being charged.
