Empowerment Worker (2 posts)

£21,000 - £26,000 per annum depending on experience (pro rata) 

18.5 hours per week, based in Oxford (with possibility of increase)

Fixed term contract for 1 year with possibility of extension 

Are you an inspiring woman with experience of working with girls and young women? We are recruiting two experienced Empowerment Workers to help develop OSARCC’s next stage of growth, expanding our Support, Empower, Educate (SEE) services to young women and girls aged 14 – 18, to enable us to increase the reach of our support, education, and preventative work. You will have experience of delivering outcomes based support, and working within an empowerment model to ensure young women and girls can access the support required. With experience of delivering face to face support services you will help us ensure that women and girls are engaged through the project development and that their voices directly inform service development.  You will have a strong commitment to working within a feminist collective ethos, in the violence against women and girls sector.

The SEE project is a Big Lottery funded project (funded until September 2020) which aims to provide holistic support to young women and girls who have experienced sexual violence. The project will work collaboratively with local partner agencies, expanding the local provision to young women and girls across Oxfordshire. Project workers will therefore be expected to work with the Project Coordinator to enable the expansion of the project, focussing on online support and community based support.  As this is a new project, you will need to be flexible and responsive, willing to vary your role and approach as the project takes shape. 

Regular evening and weekend work will be required as will travel within Oxfordshire.

This role is subject to a six month probationary period. The post holder will be eligible for 28 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays and a 5% pension contribution. OSARCC offers flexible working and offers a childcare voucher scheme.
